Browsing the Blog.

To view a post on our main page, click on the title of the post, this will bring up the post, all comments that have been added and a form to enable you to add your own comments.

You can Search for a specific topic or phrase by typing it into the search box on the right hand side of the Blog.

You can view the Archives by date, for example if you can remember us posting a Blog entry in December you want to read again but can't remember what it was called, you can click and browse the archive for December 2006 by clicking on December 2006 under Archives on the right hand side of the Blog.

You can browse the Categories by clicking on the required Blog category for example if you want to know what Jo and I have been upto, you can click on 'Neil and Jo's Latest News'.

You can change the language of the Blog into Italian, German, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Chinese or Arabic by clicking on the appropriate flag under Language Selection.

Adding your comments to the Blog

When viewing any post in the Blog, if you scroll to the bottom of the page you will see a form to submit a comment. Please complete your name, your email address (which will not be published and will only be used if we need to contact you about your comments). You can also add your web address (optional) which will then form a link from your name on the post. All posts with web addresses will be checked. Anyone can post comments to our Blog, but there will be a short delay while the comments are waiting moderation (unfortunately we have had a big problem with spam).

If you are a member of the club and which to contribute and comment on the Blog regularly, please contact us by using the 'Contact Us' button to the left and we will set up a login so your posts will appear immediately and not wait in the moderation queue. Please ensure you include your membership number and date of birth so we can check this against our members database to confirm your identity.

To login to post your comments, click on 'Login' under Meta, on the right hand side of the Blog front page.

RSS Feeds

To be able to use RSS Feeds you will need Internet Explorer 7+ if you don't have the latest edition, you can download it by clicking here.

You can choose to subscribe to our latest posts feed by scrolling to the bottom of the home page of the Blog and clicking on 'Entries (RSS) Feed', click on 'Subscribe to this feed'. Alternatively you can subscribe to our 'Comments (RSS) Feed'.  You can subscribe to the feed of a particular post that you are interested in by clicking on the title of that post, you will see a box after the post but before the comments, with details about the post and a 'RSS 2.0' link, click on this and you can subscribe to the feed for that post.

RSS Feeds allow you to see latest posts/comments without having to come to the site and also tells you if there have been any new posts since your last visit. To view the RSS feeds you have subscribed to, click on the 'Favorites Center' star at the top of the Internet Explorer screen, then click on 'Feeds'. All the feeds you are subscribed to will be listed here. If you hover over one it will tell you the last time it was updated and how many new posts have been posted since your last visit. Click on the feed and it will display the latest posts, clicking on any title to be taken to that page on our Blog.
